Weekly Gratitude List
I’m going to start this post off by saying “HORMONES SUCK!”
I’ve been feeling a bit shit lately; I think it’s definitely related to being on the Mirena and getting my period again (I have endometriosis; I posted a YouTube video about my experience earlier this year, and I’ll definitely write a blog post about it soon) . Basically though, after my first surgery I was put on the mini pill and didn’t get my period for four years; hey have come back with a vengeance and are kicking my ass - mentally and physically.
It’s Monday though, which means it’s time to share the things I am currently grateful for. Keeping a gratitude list , for me at least, is a great reminder that while I may feel down, and sometimes I may not have the motivation to post as much as I should,, not everything is doom and gloom.
I am grateful for:
Yesterday was a stunnign dayf the sun was out and my husband and I took a walk into town and went to the library. I got a few books out (including The Illustrated Herbiary, which I can’t wait to read).
My calendula has started to flower - you will not believe how excited I am; I can’t wait to use these glorious flowers in teas, tinctures, balms and oils.
I got an iPad Pro - I know, I’ve been saying I want to be content with less stuff, but I have wanted one for years! I willl also be selling my old laptop, and will be switching over to the iPad for mobile editing (of the blog, and my YouTube videos).
Spending time with my youngest sister. Our mum was in hospital earlier this month; while she was having surgery, my sister and I hung out in town together. I haven’t hung out with her one-on-one for ages, and I really enjoyed it.
Finding an outlet supermarket nearby that seems to always have dairy free things on sale (i have bought so much cheese, and sour cream recently; it’s insane).
Having things to plan for - right now, I’m saving so we can (hopefully) move in January; I really miss having a bath, and so we can travel to Australia for a wedding in March.
Gettinb back into yoga - I couldn’t do yoga after surgery, and just never got back into it; that was in April! I started doing yoga again recently, and had forgotten how much I love it, and how relaxed it makes me feel.
Listening to classic songs while working on my blog - right now I’m interning to Dreams by Fleetwood Mac.
The start of a new week.
To be honest, when I started writing this post, I was a little unmotivarfed, but going through the things that have made me me happy and have brought joy into my life over the past fortnight has definitely turned that around. I hope your week is off to a good start, and if it’s isn’t that it gets better from here.
